Potato tacos

Potato tacos is a famous Mexican food.But nowadays it has become popular in many other countries.

Potato tacos are a  very delicious snack.

Now let’s know the recipe of this amazing dish.

Ingredients:

1.½ cup of onion slices or chopped onion. 

2.5 pieces of red chilli 

3.3 pieces of medium sized potato.

4.3 tablespoon of mustard oil

5.¼ cup of coriander leaves slices

6.1  cup of flour 

7.1 teaspoon of baking powder 

8. soybean oil -according to need

9.mozzarella cheese- ½ cup

10.chili sauce -¼ cup

11.salt- according to need.

12.½ cup of water.

Ingredients are available and they can be found in any kitchen.

Now let’s know the cooking method.

Cooking steps:

1.Boil the potatoes and mash them:

Take a pan,pour enough water on the pan.Then add 3 pieces of medium sized potatoes.Boil them properly.After boiling, wait for getting cold at room temperature.Then mash the potatoes properly.

2.Fry onion slices and red chili :

Take another pan on the stove.Set medium heat.Add 3 tablespoons of mustard oil to the pan.Then add 8-10 pieces of red chili to the oil.Fry them for a few moments. Then pick up from oil and keep the  chilis aside.

Now add ½ cup of onion slices or chopped onion to the same pan and oil (left).Fry it for a few minutes. Don’t fry it so much.Onion won’t be reddish or brown.Just make it soft and slightly brown.Then keep the fried onion slices aside.

3.Make the potato filling of tacos:

Take a bowl.Then take   previously fried red chilli in bowl.Add salt according to taste.Mash the chilis.Then add fried onion slices to the chilis and add ¼ cup of coriander leaves slices.Mix them properly. Actually mash them with your hand.Then mix the mashed ingredients with mashed potatoes. Mix all the ingredients properly. 

4.Make rotis for tacos:

Take 1 cup of flour in another bowl.Add 1 teaspoon of baking powder to the flour.Then add a little salt according to need.After that add 2 tablespoon of oil( normal soybean oil) on the bowl.Mix them properly.Then add ¼ cup of water to the bowl.Add the water gradually and mix with the ingredients. Mix for a few minutes.Make a dough of flour.Then brush 3-4 drops of oil on the surface of dough.Now cover the bowl with dough and wait for 15  to 20 minutes.

After 20 minutes make a few rotis (Circular thin shaped bread)  from the dough.

Then heat them on a pan. Heat will be medium flame.You will see that, some place of roti’s surface will be puffy and it will get slightly brown colour.( Mainly the roti will be white in colour and puffy in some place of surface).You won’t need  to add oil on the pan, to make roti.It will be cooked by its own oil add while making the dough.

After frying all the rotis, take a flat plate.Take 1 piece of roti on the plate.Then spread chili sauce on the one surface of roti.Spread carefully.Then spread some mozzarella cheese on half of the surface.After that add previously mixed  potato’s filling  on the cheese.Then again make another layer of mozzarella cheese in the upper surface of potato’s filling. Then cover the layers of filling and cheese by the other half of the roti.Press gently. 

5.Fry potato tacos:

Set a pan on a stove.Brush a little amount of oil on the pan.Set the flame of stove to medium low heat.Then add potato tacos on the pan.Fry for a few minutes.In the mean time alter the surface of tacos.

When both surfaces of potato tacos get reddish or brown coloration in  maximum places, then your potato tacos are perfectly ready.

Now pick up the potato tacos from the pan and serve it.Try to serve tacos while it is hot.

You can cut in the middle with a knife.

Serve tacos with tomato sauce or any type of sauce as you like.It will enhance the taste of the dish.

Now time to decorate. You can decorate it with tomato slices, cucumber slices, onion slices and anything you wish.

You can serve tacos as snacks with some french fry.

In the evening potato tacos can be a perfect snack.

Potato tacos  are generally spicy.If you don’t like too much spicy you can decrease the number of red chili peppers while cooking.

You can decrease the amount of chili sauce.

Health alert:

Potato tacos are spicy and contain a good amount of oil. So if anyone is suffering from gastric or gas problems,then avoid potato tacos. 

It has cheese and oils.Potato tacos contain a lot of carbohydrates.So the people who are on a diet and trying to lose weight, avoid potato tacos.This can be the reason for your weight gain.

People who are suffering from high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease and diabetes should avoid potato tacos as it contains cholesterol and a great amount of carbohydrate and spice.

Potato tacos should be taken moderately.Even we should not take anything excessively. Anyone should not eat it in excessive amounts.

Potato tacos are a famous street food in many countries. Children like it so much.So you can make it for your children, if they don’t take too much spice, decrease the amount of chilli and chilli sauce.
